Why pjf? Well, it's quite simple really. When I started studying at The University of Melbourne some seven years ago, pjf was the UNIX login name that was assigned to me, quite simply because they were my initials. Since I was so used to entering pjf when presented with a login prompt at University, it became my preferred name for just about everything -- home network, CPAN, work, games, and so on. I know that I'm not the only monk here who has the same name as their initial University of Melbourne login. :)

For those interested in history, my previous "psuedonym" up until that point was "Loony", or more often "The Loony". This was really only used on Melbourne BBSs in the late 80s and early 90s, and was due to a comment made in relation to a conversation I was having with the house-sitter of my first BBS, The Real Connection. I'm still often called "Loony" by many of my friends who I've known from that time, even though the dial-up BBS scene is pretty much dead.

All the best,
