First I thought you wanted to make available an interactive Perl shell for public use, which would be nice. Something like that exists for Ruby so people can try out some code before they actually install anything locally. But if this is only for your own use, what would be the benefit over just logging into your remote machine with SSH and do all you need to do with Perl that way?
