What do you mean, how did you do so? I'm using Notepad++ and if I convert a PL file to UTF-8, the script no longer runs.

Likely an extra byte-order mark Notepad++ adds by default. Windows editors are nasty like that. (You should be able to turn it off from the options.)	[reply]
