http://www.perlmonks.org?node_id=505672

Hi monks,

For a long time, I have been accessing http://www.perlmonks.com. It used to quite fast but recently I had to wait between 1 to 5 minutes for the page to show up. Maybe it's something to do with the network.

Today, I made a switch to http://www.perlmonks.org and it's considerably faster. The page gets downloaded in less than 30 seconds.

Are they supposed to be in different locations?

    Apparently not.

I don’t see a difference and haven’t noticed any slowness either. It’s probably an issue with your ISP. Are you sure you still see this difference, or could the speedup only have coincided with your hostname switch?

    Makeshifts last the longest.

      Thanks, Aristotle.

I suspect it's probably my ISP. For some time (up to a month), it was excruciatingly slow. But after I started using the one with ".org" today, it's sort of back to normal now.
