PopeFelix has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am in need of Perl hackers to work on this site (Inksome, a LiveJournal clone) I run, but I have no money to pay them. If I did, I'd post on jobs.perl.org, and I wouldn't be posting here. But all I have to offer are permanent accounts on Inksome. So where do I go to find Perl hackers looking for something to do?

If all you're offering is access to the site, I think the obvious place to advertise is on the site itself where people interested in access would already be looking. Otherwise, you'd want to try to get the message out on similar sites for similar reasons.

I know your question is "where" but I think first you need to answer the question "how" and think your attraction strategy over. A permanent acount on some website does not sound very exciting. Maybe you could describe it a bit more? Maybe you could present it as an working in an exciting new programming paradigm or something? Or maybe it would be a site full of attractive young females - and the core coder could automatically became their hero?
Well, we *do* have an awful lot of anime fangirls... ;)

    It depends a lot.

About the how: In general if it's open source (I tried to find out, but the "download" link is a 404) your chances are much better. Your site seems to generate some sort of income, and if that's more (doesn't matter how much) than the hosting costs you should offer to share that.

Most Perl hackers that I know tend to be absorbed in interesting and time consuming projects already, so you have to offer them something interesting.

About the where: If it's built with a particular framework (like Catalyst or Jifty) you could ask in their respective communities.

Of course the best chances are to advertise on your site directly, as has already been said.
