Two processes of a Perl EXE

pankaj_it09 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

In my Windows XP system the EXE created using the "pp" command occurs twice in the task manager when I run it.

One process is running and the other is just present in the memory.

Why two processes ?
