in thread Limit AM's Posting Rights

I think you don't know the marketing methods of companies. I assume of course, that I get my Password per e-mail and of course afterwards all the crap(spam) to the same address. That is my privacy-issue! Not the monks, who have only the web-access, but the Sysop who can do more - and if (s)he is a company drone will do.

    Hotmail accounts are free. Create an account, get your password, then ignore/delete the account.

    And if you're really paranoid, login to hotmail via anonymizer.com

    Unless you specifically put your email on your user info or sig or any other place, the only place where that is stored on PM is in the internal database, which means that the site would need to be cracked before someone can see your email. And as someone else pointed out, I've yet to see spam through my pm-specific account (see below).
    Dr. Michael K. Neylon - mneylon-pm@masemware.com || "You've left the lens cap of your mind on again, Pinky" - The Brain
      And who is the Sysop? And for which corp does (s)he work?
        To answer your questions: (Note that I may be mistaken; feel free to correct me)
        1. vroom
        2. I'm not sure, but I think none. See es home node.

        Seriously. You don't need to worry that much about privacy here. It is possible to remain relatively anonymous, even with a registered account. And people will take you a lot more seriously that way.

        The overall admin of this site is vroom, and the company that owns the servers is

    The only thing we use your e-mail for is sending out your password and sending it to you once you forget it.

    Funny, I don't get any Spam on the email account I registered my PerlMonks account with.

    -thabenksta
    my $name = 'Ben Kittrell'; $name=~s/^(.+)\s(.).+$/\L$1$2/g; my $nick = 'tha' . $name . 'sta';
