in thread PM redesign: status update

A drop-down menu looks useful (better), you should also add a NEW QUESTION button that opens a form

Regarding bare/ hide 'n' cry , yup, it sure can be quite laborious if you 're new to perlmonks /bare, or if you want to ask a question.

But you can bookmark login and Newest Nodes for primary navigation (or maybe The Perl Monks Guide to the Monastery), and for search simply edit the url to node=whatever search terms

update: ha, I knew there was a node for this, monktitlebar is the navigation menu at the top of every page, despite the "permission denied" message, the node renders and links all the sections -- monktitlebar would make a good start page for /bare

see also Bare PerlMonks, great for small devices, Re^3: perlmonks.mobi ? (anonybare), Re^2: Perlmonks SmartPhone App (feel free)

The content of the main menu (or "monktitlebar") is contained is a world-readable document, monktitlebar sitedoclet.

For a menu of just the sections, there's this document: Sections sitedoclet.

The "Leftovers" nodelet, which is a menu of several useful links, can be viewed like this: Leftovers nodelet.

(All the above links are in /bare/ mode.)

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.
