note ColonelPanic <p>What you really need is not a "bunch of perl scripts" but a good e-commerce system that is mature and is being actively developed.</p> <p>You don't want to have to hack everything yourself whenever new e-commerce requirements come along, and you want an active community that is finding and fixing security problems, because you will never be able to manage all of that yourself. You want something that you can just upgrade to the latest version when issues like that come along.</p> <p>I haven't done a recent store in Perl. For <strike>better or</strike> worse, most of that stuff is now done in PHP.
