To preface:

This is more searching for [http://www.cpan.org|CPAN] wisdom than [http://www.perl.com|Perl] wisdom, but i can't think of a better place...

Anyway, recently i have been writing some home-brew unix utilities for use on my systems, and after doing things incorrectly for the longest time, i finally came across the [cpan://Unix::PasswdFile] tool. Superbly nifty. Unfortunately, i would like complete control of both the shadow and passwd files. As such, i wrote [http://jynx.perlmonk.org/content/scripts/ShadowFile|Unix::ShadowFile]. This is particularly unfortunate because the contact information for Steve Snodgrass is no longer valid, and the one collaborator listed on cpan no longer receives mail at the address listed.

My google search went very poorly, don't even ask :-(

So, i'm wondering three things:

Can someone please help me get in contact with Steve Snodgrass so that i can see if this module can make it into the "official" [cpan://Unix::ConfigFile] distro?

If not, is there signicant call for such a module that i should post it myself?

If i post it myself, will that make me the de facto supporter and maintainer of Unix::ConfigFile (something i don't want to happen due to time constraints)?

Any help with these questions will be appreciated (read: ++ for you),
jynx

PS anyone who wishes to comment on the module itself (for good or ill), please e-mail me; see the module for where to do so...
</field>
