Powersave mode? All the computers I've dealt with don't awaken from "power save mode;" it's more like a coma. "Awakening" them requires a power cycle. On my laptop, this required removing the battery.

Needless to say, I've disabled "powersaving" for my computers. The monitors will still go into their powersaving modes, but the box with all the noisy bits stays awake.

My Windows boxes ignore mouse movements in powersave (Why? I don't know nor do I particularly care), so I bang on the space bar (it's big and hard to miss). My FreeBSD box does pay attention to the mouse, so I just waggle it wildly.
