A few favorites:

[href://http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html|mplayer] plays nearly everything you can see or hear. (I prefer the console-only builds)

[href://http://www.kmonos.net/lib/noah.en.html|Noah] for handling virtually any "ark I've."

[http://www.heidisql.com/|HeidiSQL] for mySQL dev. It's been on my list since the 'MySQL GUI' days.

[http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/|TortoiseSVN]. [id://660527|Listed] by [Arunbear], but it deserves a second mention.

And a few others:

[href://http://www.apple.com/safari/|Safari] for win32. It's there. Might as well try it out.

[href://http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html|SciTE] is great if (like most editors) you take the time to really bend it to your will.

[href://http://www.foobar2000.org/|foobar2000], a 'lite' audio player with plenty of plug-ins available to make it heavy.

[http://privoxy.org/|Privoxy] to filter out banner ads. (...they still use those right?)

[http://aspell.net/win32/|aspell for win32]. 'Reccomended' for those pesky misspellings. ;^)
