I've been looking at this recently as well (not out of joy) and found no other sane method than to use a Windows (virtual) machine with [http://www.microsoft.com/Express/|SQL Server Express] (assuming you have no MSSQL box). After that, the already mentioned [module://DBD::ODBC] can be used to query the server.

I do have to say it's not a great solution, but at least you can export the data into something more cross-platform ;-)
