&lt;p&gt;If you think that Perl 6 is the language of the future (and I do too), then just use it! The future is here, it's just unevenly distributed (as [TimToady] says).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Seriously, there are two Perl 6 compilers that are quite usable and actively developed, [http://rakudo.org/|Rakudo] and [https://github.com/sorear/niecza/|Niecza].&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;They [http://perl6.org/compilers/features|aren't feature complete], but they do implement enough features to make working with them rather pleasant. Both give you many of the good Moose bits already, and in Rakudo you can [http://6guts.wordpress.com/2011/08/01/a-hint-of-meta-programming/|already use meta object programming for more than introspection].&lt;/p&gt;
