This sounds like the problem-solving-strategy I know as &lt;em&gt;teddy-bear-method&lt;/em&gt; or &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging"&gt;rubber-duck-method&lt;/a&gt;: by trying to explain a problem (or a bug) clearly, the fault becomes obvious. It works &lt;em&gt;extremely&lt;/em&gt; well.</field>
