Occasionally, the gods find it fitting to set the faithful to a task: a Quest.
Each Quest is active for a limited time. This is usually fairly short — a few days or weeks — but sometimes a Quest lasts until the end of the epoch.
Quests are the gods' way of soliciting idea from the general populace for ideas for improving PerlMonks.
Therefore, Monks who contribute worthy suggestions are eligible to receive special dispensations of eXperience Points. However, a greater incentive is the fame and karma (let's call it "pharma") that naturally accrues to successful Questers .
I'm notoriously bad at coming up with new poll ideas. Help me out here please. You probably won't get awarded any extra XP even if this is a quest cuz that equals additional work for me. However, if I find your poll idea worthy I can add it to a pool of potential polls for the future. Then I just need to write a script and add it to my crontab.
All right kids the moment you've all been waiting for.
That's right there is a new quest.
The goal is to get all of you to write up a review of your favorite most used modules.
Conversely you can writeup about modules others should avoid.
Hopefully this will raise awareness of many of the wonders of the Perl world which often remain hidden within the dark recesses of CPAN.
Your job to design a theme for inclusion into Perl Monks.
You can do this a number of ways. Save the HTML from the frontpage and one from a node with some replies listed below it. Save the HTML page... play around with the colors replace any images with your own and then send me a copy of the source plus any images you may have changed. Another option is to take a screen shot of a page and send me the result.
If you take that approach I'd like you to include a message with all of the hex color values you used for various attributes.
I'll include any I like plus the one you guys vote up the highest.
You've read about people's ideas at PerlMonks T-Shirts now is your chance to unleash your creative talents and see what you can come up with. E-mail me image files at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will then post them in one central location and then we will vote to decide which designs we would like to go into production.
