in reply to Is Perl undervalued (by some people) for similar reason(s) like GNU/Linux?

not the GNU/Linux of today.

The problem is which GNU/linux -- yesterday or today. And tomorrow they'll be another one vying for attention.

Ditto: command shell; window manager; app manager; ...

The real problem is the fragmentation.

    The problem is which marmalade!

    Linux is like marmalade; just pick one and try it. If you don't like the taste, then you can buy a different brand for a couple of quid.

    perl -E'sub Monkey::do{say$_,for@_,do{($monkey=[caller(0)]->[3])=~s{::}{ }and$monkey}}"Monkey say"->Monkey::do'

      I bet you can't find this many types of marmalade. (Which as it happens I dislike also.)
