    <> is an input stream iterator. FILE4 was opened for output. If that doesn't set off any alarm bells in your head, it should.

    Gah! Apparently I've got bats in my belfry. :)

    No point fixing to enumerate the real problems here, as the thread is duplicated in opened file being overwritten.
