New Year, new Hope! That the Crisis will Resolve and our Struggle comes to an end, because Perl 6 will finally come to our Machines, with all the required Schemes and Modules, so we can migrate our Projects and Work becomes easier and more efficient! Imagine having time for a Fitness plan or even Learning new Dance moves - the Family will be impressed. We could go on long Journeys and play with the Toys the kids got for christmas. There is no other answer to that poll: New Year, new Hope!

    Poll
Sincerely, I hope the new year sees you find a new job, closer to home.

Hey thanks very much man, I appreciate that.

I was so blind-sided by this that I'm stuck in the position I was in last time, where I have to take the first thing that says yes. Of course that becomes a pretty viscous cycle. I'll get out of it somehow.

If only I could make a living wage working with wood, steel or flour and sugar :)

Would building robots controlled by Perl be considered Toys, Machines, Projects, or Schemes?

It is definitely going to involve Struggle, Hope, Resolve, and Work...

      A few small ones: Toys.

Robot army with lasers that steal your medicine: Scheme.

      I vote for more schemes.

    Learning!

For the last few months, I've been mulling over a web-app that would use AJAX to do something that I currently do manually with a clipboard (a real one, with a paper form that I fill out) and a spreadsheet. I've start to fiddle around with the database end using sqlite3, and I plan to use Dancer to run the app that I eventually develop. And I want it to be AJAXy so that I can use it on the tablet I expect to buy sometime this year.

This is an easy one to want to group a few:

    Hope (Keep positive)
    Journeys (Blaze new trails)
    Learning (Always...)
    Projects (2013 Honey-Do's!)
    Toys (The gift of accomplishment)

But, Fitness Plan for me to get back on track after the holidays. Well, that's how I'm describing it. heh

Journey - relocating for the first time in 14 years. I need to remember how to make new friends.
    Family - mini-programmer #2 due in April!
Learning - I hope this never ends.

(A belated) Happy New Year to all. Hope your resolutions are still going strong.

New family, mini-programmer #1 is due April 17!

"Other": It's not a crisis, it's a pageant. All we need is a theme, a song and some visuals...

Struggle. Because if you're not straining to do just a little bit better all the time, then life would get incredibly boring. My struggle these days is mostly over the Go board.
I was REALLY hoping that was a link to a perl implementation of Go. :-)
