it's not generally true. A trivial example being several of the polar maps. How many people are plotting GPS locations inside the artic/antartic circles? Especially given that ionospheric signal path distortion renders GPS essentially unusable in those regions. With the rise and rise of 'Social' network sites: 'Computers are making people easier to use everyday'
