manik112 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Attempt to free unreferenced scalar: SV 0x83db4e8 at /opt/perl/lib/site_perl/5.8.8/IO/Socket/IP.pm line 35 When I tried to install it using CPAN, it gave me the same error and it did not install. I downloaded the Perl Module directly and installed it. But looks like its missing something. Any ideas ?

IO::Socket::IP uses Socket 1.97 and from corelist -a, looks like you don't have that unless you upgraded Socket also:

    VinsWorldcom@C:\Users\VinsWorldcom> corelist -a Socket ... v5.8.8 1.78 ... v5.15.6 1.97
      Hi Yes CPAN installed the latest version: ./corelist -a Socket ... v5.17.9 2.009 Should I downgrade to 1.97 ?
corelist doesn't tell you what modules you have installed

[Corion]: Oof - "Anyway, if it is not obvious, please keep this discussion entirely confidential for now.", as seen on a public mailing list ;)
[Discipulus]: uh no choroba.. i do not practice much with online putyour image sites:can you suggest one (that possibly remove the pic after few days)?
[choroba]: Corion a bug report?
[choroba]: I have no idea :-( I used to post to photobucket.com, but they don't seem to feature "private" pictures in the free version now
[Discipulus]: dazz i'm not an experts but i think it would be possible
[Corion]: dazz: I think Image::Magick can "read" from an in-memory filehandle
[Corion]: choroba: No, some general admin discussion of how to handle (company) user accounts
[Discipulus]: might be it is necessary to pass the pic data like MIME::Base64:: encode( data..
[Discipulus]: if you have a jpeg data: or as wise Corion said IM ca n read directly your handle
