    No, it doesn't. I will have to replace the brackets.

      This code will do

      foreach my $id (@ids) { #Replace brackets with underscore $id=~s/</_/; $id=~s/>/_/; #declare regex pattern my $ext = "[^0-9]*\.jpg"; my $a_ext=quotemeta($id).$ext;
