in reply to Re^3: pp with gui (debug without --gui)
in thread pp with gui

When I remove the --gui option I get a run-time error but that kind of what I expected. The program creates a gui and I am trying to run it without using the gui option.
I should note that I can use pp to create non-gui programs and they execute just fine.

I don't think you understand what the -gui option does. Please read the pp documentation. If you have a run time error you need to address it, if you want advice you should tell us what it says. How do I post a question effectively?.
Here's what happens at run-time when I run without --gui.

      Could not access registry "HKLM\Software\ActiveState\ActiveTcl"
      Could not access registry "Software\ActiveState\ActiveTcl\8.5.13"
Failed to load Tcl dll! at C:/Perl/lib/ line 214.
Unable to initialize Tcl at C:/Perl/lib/ line 214.
Compilation failed in require at line 215.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at line 215.
Compilation failed in require at script/ line 1.
      BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/ line 1.

So, did you even go so far as to search google using these messages, or even the first one? You reported this problem two weeks ago, various suggestions and diagnostic avenues have been suggested, most of which you seem to have ignored. Your code provided is essentially a copy/paste from this SO post, with an additional button on the GUI, which includes one solution (already suggested here). If explicitly linking a library ensure they actually exist at the path you provide.

If you want to use tool to successfully achieve a goal you need to learn how they work and how to use them. If people make suggestions it's usually not for their own good. If someone suggests various things to try, try them all before replying

The example works properly with the pp call provided under Windows 7 with Strawberry Perl.
