Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Is their a way to provide a bounty to fix a bug reported to rt.cpan.org? (e.g., when the bug is fixed, the maintainers each get $25 or something like that?) Is it considered rude? I tried to patch the problem myself, but my XS skillz are not that good.

You could try in this forum, name your bug, offer your $25, there are enough knowledgeable people around. You could pay in amazon or starbucks vouchers.

Part of me likes this idea, but I would think that the first person you should try to get to fix a bug is the author noted in the module's Pod. I don't have any issue with seeing it in Perlmonks but I would want at least some evidence that the poster has tried that route and it failed.

Which module is it, anyway? And which RT number? Just curious.
Also, do you happen to have a self-contained TAP-producing test that demonstrates the bug?

Offering beer for the next YAPC might also help. Or lunch or whiskey. I've been given all of these on YAPC's for bugs fixed without knowing in advance, so it might be worth offering as motivation :)
