Use this so we can see what data you have

perl -MData::Dump -MFile::Slurp -e " dd scalar read_file shift, { qw/ +binmode :raw / }; " hitters > ThatFilesBytesAsPerlAsciiCode.pl

Try perl -CSD -e ... and see perlrun , print Delta symbol, Upside Down Text Revised, perlunitut
