small regex issue

Hi there I copied some hotmail login script from around here but I'm having problems with these lines:
$html =~ /<form TARGET="_top" name="hotmail_com" action="([^"]*)"/;
s/<input type=hidden name="([^"]*)" value="([^"]*)">//

    It would help if you explained what problems you're having.

    If you're not understanding what =~ and s/// do, or what the parentheses are for, read perlretut.

    If the script is stopping with an error message, show us the script and the (exact) message.

    If none of the above helped, try How do I post a question effectively?.

    You did not say what problem you are having,though this may help:
    my ($action)= $html =~ /<form TARGET="_top" name="hotmail_com" action= +"([^"]+)"/;
