in thread I want Tk::Splashscreen not centered.

The example program for Tk::Splashscreen is On my system (WinXP 64 w/ Activestate 5.12.2), adding the $splash->geometry("+20+20"); command as above succeeded in moving the splash window.

If this isn't the case for you, please reduce your program to the minimum needed to demonstrate the problem and post it as a new question, along with details of your OS and Perl versions. (More people will see a new SoPW than will see new replies in this one.)

Bam! I got it. The splash screen no longer lingers in the crack between screens. Thanks for your advice. I had to tinker with an example for a while. At first I was trying to make it duplicate the behavior I was seeing, but ended up doing it the right way and copied that over. :)

I do have another question, but I'll go ahead and put it in another node, as you suggested.

[choroba]: You definitely can, but the How is complex. It probably depends on the WM (but you can probably tweak the underlying X layer to provide it)
[choroba]: Google says that on Ubuntu, you can just use Ctrl+Shift instead of Alt
