in thread CGI troubles for code that runs on both Windows and OpenSuse Linux 12,3

Irrelevant to any diff between Win and *nix behavior; wrong, and another instance of taint diving down a rabbit hole while chasing a giraffe.

    Off base, ww. Applies directly to 1). in the OP.
    Yes. What say about me, is true.

      While ww, and I clearly have a disagreement on some of the details here. To ww's credit, I would like to offer the following link Windows NT/200x/XP and Windows 9x/Me for further consideration.

      Thanks, ww. Even if we don't completely agree. ;)

        Well, I wasn't going to extend this discussion in the thread. But now...

        Gosh!
        Isn't that interesting?
        You'd "like to offer" a link that just happens to be what I sent you in a message a few minutes before you posted this?
        </span>

        Downvoted!

        Update (48 hours later): taint insists in messages that he has given clear credit for the link:

        taint says I even went so far as to close by thanking you for it.
        taint says I believe I made it clear that you provided the link.

        I guess the clarity or lack thereof is in the eye of the beholder (author?)
