    bladx.

Some things to remember when contributing to Perlmonks :

1 : It is a public forum. People maintain the right to contribute what they want, no matter what level of skill they currently hold.

2 : In public forums such as this, criticism / "helpful pointers / improvements" are usually frowned upon by owners / elders, especially when posted by newer members.

3 : Stop trying so hard! I have read through a lot of your posts, and it seems to me you are posting a lot of (imho) "throwaway" meditations / discussion topics. To clarify, it looks like you're just posting for the sake of posting. Take some advice : Don't. People will respect & value your opinion much more if it is represented in well-thought out, relevant, and interesting topics.

4 : Relax. Sit back, look, listen, and learn. It will come in time.

JAPH's are the traditional way to cut your teeth on obfuscated code. Though JAPH's don't need to be a piece of obfuscation. Sometimes it's just to showcase a Perl feature.

  • See a much better description at ibm and note the person who popularized the JAPH.
  • See examples at cpan. Note many of the examples credited to various monks.
