    "5" is your hand with all fingers extended, "9" is all fingers except the pinky extended.

    "10" is signed "1" then "0".

      I thought 10 was a thumb wiggle.

        Maybe that's what they try first, and then they fall back to signing "1" then "0" to hearing people like myself who don't understand :-)
