HI All, I'm a newbie to perl as well as to development. I've been a system admin for the past 3 years and as a functional tester for a year in a banking project. I'd like to automate tasks that are repeated and would like to be a back end developer. My Favorite Os: I love Linux, especially Arch Linux is my favorite. Though it has its shortcomings. My Favorite Programming language: Perl obviously, because i tried to take up Python as my first lang with the strict indentation and stuff,it just didn't work out for me, no offence. And then i took up Perl and it just felt right in so many ways and i was actually enjoying coding in Perl. I just feel that it's one of the most expressive languages out there. And i'd love the principle of Perl -- "There is more than one way to do it".However, once when i get comfortable with Perl i'll definitely take up Python and finish what i started. In the future, i'd also love to take up web scripting lang like J query or java scripting. Now, i feel like, this path of programming is a journey you know, if you take it, you keep walking ahead solving the mysteries surrounding it. And i'm loving it. Known is a drop, unknown is an ocean. |
