Thank you for looking into this. I agree that it is likely the same person. When I googled, that twitter account did arise, as did fb, linkedin and github. I did stumble upon another email address, and I just sent a message there. Twitter's a bit out of my comfort zone.

I hit him up on Twitter with a reference to this thread, letting him know that if he's the right person you're looking to contact him. No telling if he'll respond. I imagine if he's this hard to reach about the module he won't mind having another maintainer anyway.

Thanks for the effort. About a week ago, I updated the OP, but no doubt it is easy to miss. I am now a co-maintainer. I was unable to contact the author, but I was granted permissions by the powers that be. I uploaded a new version of String::LCSS.

I didn't miss it. I just thought the extra communication might be helpful. It turns out Daniel wants no part of the module these days and says he'll follow up.

If toolic hasn't had any positive response from the author by now, he's taken the proper approach, and it would be justified to properly take ownership of the module.

Ironically, it was toolic himself (amongst others) who advised me how to do this 5+ years ago in this PerlMonks post prior to me taking one over, so if he hasn't asked for ownership yet, he definitely knows the process ;)

I never meant to imply that toolic's actions weren't justified. However, I thought the parties involved might still want to discuss whether the old maintainer wanted to still play any part. As it turns out, Daniel Yacob wants no part of the module and says he should've deleted it. He also says he'll follow up. Now toolic doesn't need to worry about showing justification to an old maintainer who comes back, because the old maintainer confirmed he isn't interested in coming back to the module.
