fail to connect to Oracle...missing OCI.dll

my connection string:

my $dbh = DBI->connect("dbi:Oracle:host=xxxx;sid=sh;port=1526, $userid
+, $password");

I can connect via sqldeveloper so I know the connection parameters are correct. Using Strawberry Perl 5.24.1 on 32-bit windows. The error message says that OCI.dll is missing.

Hello Anonymous Monk,

I would suggest to read this similar problem thread (problem using DBD::Oracle with Active State).

Most like the problem is Oracle: DBD::Oracle - install 64bit Oracle Instant Client 12.x and make sure you have OCI.DLL in your PATH as stated on the (Strawberry Perl (5.22.0.1-64bit) Release Notes) documentation. I assume the same applies for 32-bit system.
