And, leave us not forget the very simple possibility of using a command-file, in your operating-system shell of choice, which simply executes one script, then the next, then the next.   If you need this to happen from within your Perl program, you could simply execute that command-file, which will run each of the three commands in sequence and not return to you until all three are done.   (And, if you need pauses, every operating system provides some kind of sleep command ...)   An additional advantage of this approach is that the command-file is very easily modified without changing the much-more-complicated Perl program that invokes it.
