The PPM source is available on CPAN.

I've compiled ActivePerl on Linux and used PPM. So it must also be included in the ActicePerl tarballs.

However, this probably won't help you with pre-compiled binaries. I think that the binaries will only work if they are compiled with the same compiler and libraries as your version of Perl.

    John,

I changed my topic too fast,

    Sorry about that.

Originally I was talking about cygwin and PPM, then about PPM Soap Server.

If the PPMs worked fine on cygwin, we could set up PPMs for the cygwin distribution. That would also work with a plain old FTP server.

    Anyone interested?

    Mike UPDATE: Fixed typo

The issue is not with the PPMClient, but with the PPM server itself.

I cannot seem to find any links for setting up a proper ppm (soap) server

-- Does anyone have the source code for the PPM server?

      The Package Name is PPM::SOAPServer

Here is a doc about it:

      http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Reference/Products/ActivePerl-5.6/site/lib/PPM/SOAPServer.html

      The author is Graham TerMarsch

      gtermars@home.com/grahamt@activestate.com

but I cannot seem to find any source code on the net!

      Mike

Anyway, The guys from active state did not answer the mail I sent them about the PPM::SoapServer.

I can only assume that is it not published for free.
