Our shipment of Perl Monks mugs arrived yesterday so you can now go to the EDC webstore and purchase those along with other Perl Monks paraphernalia.

Thanks to Zecho for getting the mugs made and donating the first batch of them.

Let me get one of those mugs already!!!

    That's just what I wanted to cheer me up after a grim day, and I have placed an order - thanks to all. BUT: the only thing I want more than a Perlmonks mug is a Perlmonks mouse mat. I want it *almost* enough to do something about getting some designed / produced. Is there any further interest from sibling monks, which might tip me over the edge and into action?

      "A mouse, how quaint".

      I've not used a mouse on any computer I've ever owned. {grin} I guess I find trackpads to be a lot more convenient.

        You must not play any online computer games; any player with a trackball would get completely destroyed. ;) Thats not to say that I use a mousepad myself; a quality laser mouse is very necessary for any type of game requiring speed (such as Starcraft/Counterstrike/Quake/etc). For instance, try either of the Reaction games (reaction 1 is for rts, reaction 2 is for fps) at with a trackball, and then try again with a laser mouse. HUGE difference. I would never trade the speed and accuracy of my laser for anything... but feel free to play against me using whatever you want :)

        I use to say:
        My favourite mouse has 102 buttons - and doesn't move
      So all it would take is a little interest to put you over the edge, George? Consider me piqued!

    My wife said I could order one mug for every mug I permanently removed from our house. Imagine her suprise when all of her mugs were suddenly gone. ;)

    If things get any worse, I'll have to ask you to stop helping me.

[1nickt]: marioroy Yes, I am using it with MCE, as is Discipulus I believe. I was trying to work out how to make a cpanfile that would be smart enough to know which deps to require.
[1nickt]: See this code. (I expected to simply eval loading threads as a check, but weirdness happened with Perlbrew so it's a grep of -V ...)
[choroba]: Config might be better than grepping -V
[Corion]: Also see Config::V, which is less of that hackery, or that hackery hidden in a module ;)
[1nickt]: The problem was with Perlbrew
[Corion]: Whoops - Config::Perl::V
[1nickt]: I found that when using Perlbrew as recommended, with cpanminus in the system perl lib, such tests were failing to detect the data about the perl that was the install destination.
