I'm not sure why the Curses CB Client has stopped working for you, it may very well have to do with some pair issues. I have had several different clients running before and after the server move. The one I have had the best luck with is the Framechat2. It's a web browser based system that fulfills all my Perlmonks needs. As a matter of fact, i barely come to the main page anymore unless it is through a framechat jump link. It has a history, and many features that are excellent. If you haven't tried it out, it's worth a look.

Just make sure you get the xml patch from the node discussion or you will randomly have problems with the chatterbox not downloading. It seems the xml feed switches order on occasion and the patch fixes the issue (at least that's what a 30 second glance makes me believe).

Either way, enjoy chatting, don't let it become a burden.
