At my University, CIS is the name of the department (Computing and Information Sciences) and they offer both CS and IS degree options.
Here CS majors are required to take 2 courses in Calc, Matrix Theory, a course in numerical analysis, combinatorics, and a mid level statistics course. They also require an intro-ish course on logic.
