What does LWP::UserAgent do?

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I tried my perldoc -q UserAgent and it says no info available so asking here what does the below UserAgent part doing? And what do I need to fill in with some of the agent values for a script on Windows NT workstation???
use strict; use LWP::UserAgent; my $from_addr = 'what goes here?'; my $agent_name = 'scriptname.pl'; # name of script?? my $timeout = 5; my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new; $ua->agent("$agent_name " . $ua->agent); $ua->from($from_addr); $ua->timeout($timeout);

    Try with perldoc LWP::UserAgent. If you need an overview, please read LWP, especially section about "The User Agent"

    UserAgent does not exist. Try perldoc LWP::UserAgent. Also, read How to RTFM
