POP3 Client getting email subjects

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi there, I want to write a simple POP client that queries a pop3 server and just returns either a list of the subjects of all emails iin the inbox or just the first one. (Unless the mailbox gets spammed there should only ever be one) and was wondering which module(s) whould be best to use for this task. Any suggestions?
