Some of the most complex problems I have dealt with have been solved either a)In my sleep, or b)While drunk. It's odd but I often wake up in the middle of the night (or afternoon depending if I have turned nocturnal or not) and scribble down a solution so I can recall when I next wake up. Sometimes I don’t remember even writing the solution until I see the 'note to self'.
