This makes me more pessimistic but less nihilistic. Whether that is a good thing or not depends on whether you're a pessimist or not. ( And not as you may think ;^)

I guess I try to catch all conditions simply because I am a pessimist and I've rather be pessimistic so the "hobbits"¹ of the world can remain in their naive optimism.
