It might be comforting to know that even when Perl was entirely the brainchild of one man (Perl version 4, Larry Wall), Larry admitted to looking at the manpage from time to time.

    Also, I remember reading (maybe in an interview -- quoting himself?) that Larry has been known to say "I didn't know perl could do that."
