The file you need is part of the parrot: lib/Parrot/PMC.pm. I don't know why it is not found.

I don't think CPAN contains any modules intended to run with parrot. Perl6:: modules intend only to emulate certain features of Perl6 using the perl5 interpretor.

[Eily]: there was a post some time ago about variable coming from regex taking more space than the same string defined directly IIRC
[Eily]: and if there's XS, make sure the scalar holds a string representation, that sounds like bad practice though (forcing that on the call side)

[choroba]: that's not the sub's business
