I wonder what my fellow Monks would think if some of the Tutorials would actually be included in the Perl distribution as perlxxxtut.pod files? With consent of the original authors and reference to Perl Monks of course.
I think this would be a nice opportunity to help Perl further along, as well as bring more exposure to the Monastery in return.
If there are authors interested in this, I think there is still a (small) window of opportunity to get it into the imminent Perl 5.8.1. Tutorials would need to be podified and submitted to p5p. And may possibly be rejected anyway. So that may make it unattractive to do. But there are no sure things in life.
If someone thinks it's a good idea and would like to see his/her Tutorial as a perlxxxtut.pod file in the Perl distribution, but is not willing to put in the effort to podify it, then I would like to volunteer for that job.
