I am working on an external method of accomplishing this. Unfortunately it will be limited to only checking for new replies and not content change. This is because there is no easy way to tell if a node has been modified without getting a checksum of the node. That would require recursive processing and the benefit doesn't come close to added strain to the server. I am currently tracking this thread, so if it works, I will update in a little while with the very pre-alpha version.

[stevieb]: it's a long day when you want to make changes to a project and the entire test suite takes 2 hours to fully run :)
choroba knows the situation. At work, unit tests run for 30 minutes, and integration and end-to-end tests take almost one hour.
