If you have specific changes, feel free to download the current development version and submit patches. You will need a working diff program, a slow one is available free from PPT. (I recommend using the "-u" option.) As for the other complaints, I would suggest modifying POD::Parser to spit out other kinds of documentation. However for the record I started out with less Unix background than you have, and by and large I found the online documentation quite readable and informative. There were sections I had to go back to, nor was it particularly easy, but I am impressed with the quality of the information.
