I just emailed Rob Oostendorp, Blockstackers' (AKA The Everything Development Compony's) Advertising Master, about this, so hopefuly it'll get taken care of soon. It may improve the astetic and speed of the site, but it looses us the advertising revenue that lets us pay (some) of the bills, and pisses off pair who hosts us for free. (Presumably; I don't have any inside information.)
Oh, and BTW, while looking for the correct person to mail about this, I ran across adfu's perlmonks page, which gives all the current ads, where they point, and a total number of impressions, and impressive 21,053,788.
Confession: It does an Immortal Body good.

Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
