( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
After a typically silly [morning|afternoon|evening] in the ChatterBox, in which it was discovered that someone had given himself a stylish hat in his homenode pic, I am proud to announce that 3rd - 10th July is Officially* PerlMonks Silly Hat WeekTM!

The concept it simple, those wishing to take part edit their homenode pictures to include a silly hat of whatever variety they choose into the photo and upload it for the duration of the week. Consider it a dress-down-Thursday for Perlmonks but with Silly HatsTM and for a whole week!

FAQ

Can I wear whatever hat I like?
Yes, any form of headgear is acceptable. As long as it doesn't break any of the other rules of homenode pics you can wear what you want (but please wear pants, you know who you are!)

How long can I wear my hat for?
Well, Perlmonks Silly Hat WeekTM Kind of implies this silliness lasts for a week, but I guess you could keep your hat on as long as you want.

Will there be prizes for the best hats?
No, unless you want to provide them and judge yourself.

$Some_other_monk has the same hat as me!
And now you know what women feel like when they go to a party and someone else is wearing the same dress.

<Update> Where's your hat?
It's not Monday yet, I need the whole weekend to prepare a suitably silly hat. Right there! What's your excuse?</Update>

* Silly Hat Week is in no way endorsed by perlmonks.org

My cow-orkers were talking in punctuation the other day. What disturbed me most was that I understood it.

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
