If you want to be able to prove that it is your code, one way is to print it and mail it to your self through the poastal system. With the unopened package with the code and the date stamp on it, you can prove when you wrote the code.
Though that is probably overkill in most situations.

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
